The Web3 Exposure Ranking
Five families measured against public sources: the web2 domains of Web3 projects, powerful contracts, memes, NFTs and .eth names. The axis is how findable each project is; the priority is post-quantum readiness, measured — and measured in a way that separates what a project did from what its CDN did for it.
Read across the five families, the table answers one question — how far the market has got before 2030. Proved with their own key, the one verdict a CDN cannot produce: 0. Own post-quantum cryptography in the project’s code: 0. Borrowed from the CDN in front of it: 139. No post-quantum signal at all: 2. Post-quantum verdict not measurable on the row, and declared instead of scored: 1.
Read that count for what it is: 114 of those 139 are not 114 projects — they are one gateway (eth.limo) measured once and inherited by every row of the name census behind it. Outside those rows the table has 25 borrowed, 2 with no post-quantum signal at all and 1 not measurable: that is the size of the sample the headline is really made of.
↑ Dedicated search
Don't see your project in the table? Search it first in /lookup/
One single engine: 5 families + Unstoppable + EVM 0x + IPFS CID.
What is measured
Search exposure: the signals that decide whether a project can be found and read — domain identity, DNS trust records, AI crawler exposure, archived history, on-chain footprint, agent readiness. A module that could not run does not drag the score down: the total is re-normalised over the weight actually measured, and the coverage column says how deep the measurement went.
The order is not for sale
No project can buy a position, a compliance row, a level or a module result. What can be bought is the diagnosis: which module costs you points, what is fixable, and what it would move. The measurement stays independent, because that is the only reason a ranking is worth citing.
Why post-quantum is the priority
NIST’s transition draft (IR 8547, initial public draft of November 2024 — not final) deprecates RSA and ECDSA at the 112-bit security level after 2030 and disallows them after 2035; traffic recorded today can be read then. What matters is who owns the cryptography, so the verdict separates five cases and never merges them:
No measured project in this table proves its key today. Our own domain does, and the check is one command anyone can run:curl -s https://api.stygiascore.com/v1/pqc/proof/stygiascore.comIt answers with the verdict this table gives our own row — PQ proved with its own key (the state field of that JSON) — plus a fresh 32-byte challenge signed by an ML-DSA-65 key (FIPS 204, 1.952-byte key). A CDN in front of the site cannot answer that: it does not hold the private key.
- PQ proved with its own keythe domain signed a fresh challenge with the private key behind the public key it publishes — only the key’s owner can do that, and a CDN standing in front of the site cannot: it holds no private key. It is the only verdict that cannot be rented
- PQ in its own codepost-quantum code found in the JavaScript the project itself serves. It is a floor, not a ceiling: the probe reads the browser side, so cryptography running where it cannot look — a backend — would be a false negative, and this verdict says nothing about the key exchange, which is the layer a harvest-now-decrypt-later attack waits on. Shor breaks both layers; a broken signature is noticed, a broken key exchange is not
- PQ on its own edgethe hybrid key exchange is served by their own network, not by a CDN
- PQ borrowed from its CDNthe hybrid key exchange comes from the CDN in front of them — Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, CloudFront, Bunny. It is real protection, but it is not their work
- no PQ measuredno PQ signal measured anywhere: classical key exchange
The post-quantum verdict is also the order of the rows: own cryptography first, then borrowed from the CDN, then no signal, and last the rows whose verdict could not be measured. Inside each group the higher search exposure goes first. The column is the measurement; the order is the priority.
That is why the numbers can read out of order: Milady Maker shows 48 and sits below Moonbirds, which shows 21 — the two rows are not in the same post-quantum group, and the group decides before the number does. Read the number as the measurement and the position as the priority; neither one is a mistake.
What this ranking is — read before the tables
Automated measurement of public data on a stated date · not financial advice · not a security audit · not an endorsement · nobody can buy a position
This is not financial, investment or trading advice, and it is not a price or value opinion about any asset. It is not a security audit either: it reads a subset of public signals on a stated date and cannot find every flaw in a project. Scores change as projects — and public sources — change.
StygiaScore is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any project listed, and no project has reviewed, approved or paid for its row. Names and domains are used nominatively, to identify what is being measured, and are the property of their owners.
Every project name below is a link: it opens, in a new tab, the site that was measured, so the check can be repeated on the same thing that was scored. The link is a reference, not an endorsement and not a recommendation to use the project. It is marked rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" — it passes no ranking value — and it is not for sale: nobody pays for a row or for a link. A site can change after it was measured; the scan dates on the row say when the measurement was taken.
WSEP, and why it is not the free score
The number in this table is WSEP: the engine’s aggregate over five weighted dimensions — identity 30, performance 15, security 20, ecosystem authority 20, tech stack 15 — renormalised over the weight actually measured. It carries no brand term and no post-quantum term: this column says how findable and how verifiable a project is, and nothing else.
The free score publishes a different formula on the same target: 60% web3 SEO presence and 40% post-quantum risk, with the weights the engine declares. It also reads brand recognition and the on-chain asset profile, which this table deliberately leaves out — that is why a well-known project can sit higher there than here.
Same domain, same day, measured 27 September 2026: aave.com — WSEP 76 in the engine, 79/100 on the free score. larvalabs.com — WSEP 56, 60/100. Two formulas, both ours, both published.
And it is not the same date: the rows here carry the pass each of them was measured in — 23 Sept – 28 Sept 2026 — and every row prints its own three dates, while the free score is measured the moment you ask for it. The date at the top of this page is the most recent source consulted, not the day the whole table was measured: reading the two without their dates is what makes them look like a contradiction.
What 100 means here — measured, not promised
A 100 on this scale is not decorative and not reserved: it is the sum of the five weights, and single dimensions have been measured at 100 — security for one chain, authority for one operator. What nobody has done is max all five at the same time. The highest score this engine has returned on the most instrumented domain we could find is 86/100 (cloudflare.com, 27 September 2026), and the highest row in this snapshot is 75 — 76 when re-measured that day.
The missing stretch has a name. Five modules are declared as not implemented — backlinks, keywords, content authenticity, social web3 and historical — so they do not score at all, and the total renormalises over what was actually measured. A 100 today would mean 100 over the nine modules that do run; implementing the pending ones would raise the bar, not lower it.
So the ceiling is published instead of implied: a 92 nobody can check is worth less than an 86 you can reproduce. Re-run any of them and read wsep.total in the JSON: curl -s https://api.stygiascore.com/v1/score/<domain>
Web2 domains of Web3 projects
10 rows · the ten highest-scoring rows of the measured sample (top projects by DefiLlama TVL). The rest of the sample is not published in this family, and any row that was measured and kept out is declared with its score instead of disappearing. The top of the market by DefiLlama TVL that serves a live site — not a DeFi-only list: measured by category, the top of this market is mostly centralised exchanges, and the breakdown of the rows published here is printed next to the selection rule. Every row is a DNS name (.com, .fi, .xyz), and none of them declares a decentralised name. Names like .eth are not in this family: there is no registry record or DNS entry here for these modules to read — and that is why they are measured in a family of their own, at the end of this page, on-chain and through their gateway.
Measured by category, this family is 7 CEX, 1 Bridge, 1 Chain, 1 Lending — a top of the market, not a DeFi-only list.
Two different things are called a domain
A web2 domain is a name in the ICANN DNS: a registry record (RDAP), DNSSEC and DMARC records, a TLS certificate and a URL. Every row in the first family of this table is one of those, and the nine modules read exactly that.
A web3 name is a name whose identity lives in an on-chain registry, with no ICANN record at all. Measured on 27 September 2026: brad.crypto answers NXDOMAIN on the public DNS, and vitalik.eth has no DNS record either — but its identity is on-chain, free to read: namehash → resolver 0x231b0e…8e63 → contenthash pointing at IPFS, with the address 0xd8da…6045 beside it. The page is served through a gateway (eth.limo, 39,173 bytes of HTML, HTTP 200).
They are not the same measurement, so they are not the same column. What makes a web2 row verifiable is the registry and the DNS; what makes a web3 name verifiable is the chain. Scoring a web3 name with the DNS modules would produce a zero that means nothing, and mixing both in one column is the confusion this page is built to avoid. That is why the .eth names are the last family of this page, measured the other way: read on-chain, served through their gateway, and with the gateway said out loud in every row.
Post-quantum is an argument for measuring them, not against it. A site behind Cloudflare inherits hybrid post-quantum key exchange without doing anything — most of the rows above are in exactly that position, and this table says so. A name served through a gateway has no CDN of its own to borrow from: what a probe reads in the TLS handshake belongs to the operator of the gateway, not to the project, and the engine already has the verdict for that case — PQ present, owner not attributable, no merit granted and none taken away. That is where "own post-quantum cryptography" would finally mean something: a project that signs or serves its own content post-quantum is indistinguishable from the rest only until somebody measures it.

Web3 names (ENS)
114 rows · every .eth name that serves a page through its gateway today, out of a pool declared in full (Certificate Transparency plus the registry read on-chain) — a census, not a selectionNames whose identity lives in an on-chain registry instead of the ICANN DNS: every row is a .eth name, and every one of them serves a page today. Each is measured through its gateway (<name>.eth.limo) — what a browser actually opens — so the transport and the post-quantum verdict in the row belong to the gateway, and the row says whose they are, line by line. What a name is worth has no free source, so no price column is published: the column is the page the gateway served, which was measured. Names from other registries (.crypto, .wallet, .x) are not rows here, and what the chain answered about them is declared below.
The pool behind these rows — declared, not hidden
484 .eth names were put to the test: every name with a TLS certificate issued for its gateway (Certificate Transparency, *.eth.limo) together with the registry read on-chain. Of those, 208 still declare content today and 115 answer with a page — and this family publishes 114 rows, because the difference is a page the engine could not read in this pass (a multi-megabyte one, measured) and it is counted here instead of printed with an invented score. The rest are counted too: a name whose gateway serves nothing is not a low score, it is no score at all.
The protocol in the record decides most of it, so the count is published split: of the names declaring IPFS, 107 of 131 still answer; of those declaring IPNS, 8 of 63. One global total would hide exactly the number that says whether a name is still alive.
The pool is re-runnable the same way a row is: it comes from public certificates and from the registry itself, not from a list we wrote.
Names in the Unstoppable registry (.crypto, .wallet, .x) are not rows here — and this is what was measured
Five names of that registry were read on-chain (Polygon, UNSRegistry 0xa9a6a3…9e9f, 27 September 2026) — wallet.crypto, nft.crypto, crypto.crypto, dao.crypto and x.crypto — and all five exist as tokens; nine common words asked in the same pass (business, casino, coin, defi, gambling, home, pay, poker, smart) do not exist at all. They are not rows here for two separate reasons, both declared below: what the chain points at is not a page, and no free source says what a name is worth.
None of them is a row, and the reason is measured, not a preference: the names that hold a page record point it at a shell of 113 bytes (crypto.crypto) and 108 bytes (x.crypto) whose only content is a redirect to ud.me/<name>, and the public IPFS gateways tested either throttle or refuse to serve HTML (dweb.link answers 429, Pinata’s public gateway 403). A fourth, dao.crypto, holds a record whose content did not answer in the same pass. There is no site behind them to measure yet, so a score would be a score of nothing.
The public DNS agrees from the other side: crypto.crypto, x.crypto and wallet.crypto all answer NXDOMAIN (measured the same day), so they are not in the web2 family either. The day any of them serves a page, it enters this family the same way the .eth rows above did.

Sources and attribution
Every published figure is a derived measurement from one of the sources below, consulted on the date shown. Where a provider requires attribution, it is printed here and on the ranking. No provider’s raw dataset is redistributed, resold or republished.
- StygiaScore WSEP engine (our own measurement)search exposure · consulted 26 Sept 2026
our own engine, querying public sources only: RDAP registry records, DNS-over-HTTPS (Google and Cloudflare resolvers), Tranco, Common Crawl, the Wayback Machine, Sourcify and public RPC nodes. No paid provider and no API key involved.
- Post-quantum probe (our own tool)post-quantum verdict · consulted 28 Sept 2026
our own probe: it reads the key exchange the site actually negotiates in the TLS handshake and scans the JavaScript the site serves for post-quantum libraries. The network behind the host is attributed by ASN (RIPE Stat, BGPView), so a CDN’s work is never credited to the project.
- DefiLlamaTVL · consulted 24 Sept 2026
public API. Figures are published with attribution to DefiLlama; no raw dataset is redistributed, resold or republished.
- CoinGeckomarket capitalisation · consulted 24 Sept 2026
public API (free tier, rate-limited), read by coin id and never by ticker — two projects can share a symbol. Attribution shown as required; no raw dataset is redistributed.
- Public chain sourcesreadable source, ECDSA use, native balance · consulted 24 Sept 2026
read-only calls to public RPC endpoints (Polygon, Ethereum, BNB, Avalanche) and to Etherscan/Sourcify-compatible source verification. No private key, no account data and no paid indexer is involved.
- On-chain contract scan (our own scanner)contract post-quantum risk · consulted 7 Oct 2026
our own scanner over public read-only RPC: it reads the contract bytecode and the source the explorer has verified, flags ECDSA ecrecover in the validation path, and looks for post-quantum scheme names (ML-DSA, SLH-DSA, ML-KEM). No private key and no paid indexer involved. A risk level is only published when the source was actually read and the coverage was complete; otherwise the cell says not measured.
StygiaScore is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any project listed, and no project has reviewed, approved or paid for its row. Names and domains are used nominatively, to identify what is being measured, and are the property of their owners.
The limits, declared
- Borrowed is not preparation. A project behind a CDN inherits hybrid post-quantum key exchange without deciding anything; one running its own edge may look worse and be further along. The column says whose cryptography it is, never how serious the project is. The order does use that verdict as its axis, and what it groups is the protection actually in place — own cryptography first, then inherited, then none, then not measured — so a project with nothing in place ranks below one whose CDN did the work for it, and this column is what tells the two apart.
- The post-quantum verdict is a floor, not a verdict on the backend. The probe reads the key exchange in the TLS handshake and scans the JavaScript the site serves. Post-quantum code running where it cannot look — a backend, a signer, an HSM — is invisible to it, so “no post-quantum cryptography in its own code” means “none found in what the browser is served”. A false negative is possible, and saying so is cheaper than defending a zero later.
- Exposure is not traffic. No search-volume, ranking-position or conversion data is used; the score comes from what the project publishes and what public sources say about its domain. Two of the five modules declared as not implemented are exactly the search ones — backlinks and keywords — so this reads as a hygiene and identity score for a domain, not as an SEO-performance score and not as a forecast of traffic.
- A name only enters the table when it serves a page. The last family reads .eth names on-chain and measures them through their gateway, and it publishes only the ones that answer: the names that declared content and no longer serve it are counted in that family’s pool, not printed as rows. What the gateway serves (transport, post-quantum verdict) belongs to the gateway, and every row says so. Names in other registries — .crypto, .wallet, .x — were read on-chain on 27 September 2026 and hold no page to measure; what the chain answered about them is declared inside that family. None of them answers in the public DNS either (NXDOMAIN, measured the same day).
- The NFT family publishes no power column. A floor price needs a paid source, so the column is absent here rather than printed as seven empty cells. Where a source exists but a row was not measured, the cell says not measured — a declaration, not a gap.
- Exposure here is WSEP, not the free score. Two different formulas run on the same domain, both published, and both dated. The reconciliation is declared above, before the tables, with the two figures on a same-day example.
- The sample is a selection. Each family declares how its rows were chosen, and the memes sample is by market capitalisation with a project site — a different rule gives a different table. A row that was measured and kept out is declared with its score and the reason, under its family, instead of disappearing: an omission you can check costs the table nothing, and a silent one would cost it everything.
- Every row carries when it was last scanned. The date under each project is the most recent inspection of that row, and the breakdown by source (exposure, post-quantum, power) travels with it. Two rows can carry different dates on purpose: they were not measured the same day, and saying otherwise would be a prettier lie.
- Not financial advice, not an audit, not an endorsement.
The measurement is a runnable script, not a private dashboard: same inputs, same sources, same numbers. Each snapshot is dated, and the next step is to anchor its hash on-chain so a published table cannot be rewritten after the fact — including by us.
